Chihuahuas are tiny dogs with big character. They are the national symbol of Mexico, and they are considered among the oldest dogs in America.  Nowadays they are so popular, we can see them everywhere around the world. Because they are smart and can learn faster than other dogs some trainers used them to act in movies, advertising videos, and in some sports. In addition, the imagination of cartoon filmmakers didn’t forget to make a chihuahua a loved personality for their cartoon series. 1. Wheely Willy Famous Chihuahua from Real Life

Willy (C. 1991-2009) is a sad story that turned out to be an inspiration and touched the hearts of a lot of people around the world. Willy is a paraplegic chihuahua who used to live in Long Beach, California. Due to two bestselling children’s books where he was a subject, he is becoming famous.

The sad story starts when he was found abandoned in a cardboard suffering from vocal cords sliced and spinal injuries. Fortunately for the dog, a veterinarian treated him in the hospital. Then, because no one wanted to adopt him for almost a year, The pet groomer Deborah Turner adopted the dog a give him the love and home he deserves.

The dog becomes an inspiration, he was popular on TVs such as Animal Planet. Also, he was promoting mutual understanding. 

His Mother  Deborah Turner solved the issue of his disability by bringing him a type of wheelchair designed for canine applications. People, especially Turner’s customers wanted to know more about Willy and his disability solution. This leads to local news coverage and even international.

2. The Famous Chihuahua Tinkerbelle (Paris Hilton’s Chihuahua).

This tiny chihuahua start to be famous when she was introduced in regular appearances on the reality show, alongside her mom Paris Hilton, who has various pets including dogs, a pig, and a miniature pony. Tinkerbell crave attention and was too jealous of other dogs according to her mom.

In 2004, the little dog went missing. Paris at that time offered $5,000 as a reward for Tinkerbell’s safe return. Fortunately, the dog was there in less than a week.

The famous Tinkerbell passed at the age of 14 in 2015, her mom was so sad and depressed. She said on Instagram. “After 14 amazing years together my baby Tinkerbell has passed away of old age. I feel like I’ve lost a member of my family. She was such a special & incredible soul. We went through so much together. I can’t believe she’s gone. I will miss her & think about her for the rest of my life. I love you Tinky, you are a Legend & will never be forgotten.”

3. Famous Chihuahua Gidget

Gidget (February 7, 1994 – July 21, 2009), known also as “Taco Bell Chihuahua“, The dog was introduced as an advertising figure for Taco Bell for almost three years from 1997 to July 2000. She was voiced by a human man named Carlos Alazraqui with the catchphrase, “Yo Quiero Taco Bell”. 

Also, the tiny chihuahua made personal appearances for Taco Bell events. We used to see her riding limousines and flying in the first class.

4. The famous chihuahua Bruiser Woods

Moonie (1998 – March 11, 2016), and Moondoggie are the two real names of the canine actor, even if he was known as Bruiser Woods. Due to his role known as Bruiser Woods in the film Legally Blond, the chihuahua dog becomes famous. He was acting alongside the actress Reese Witherspoon. 

The dog was so special, he was popular, fashionable, and confident in both movies. He lived with Gidget the “Taco Bell Chihuahua“.

5. Famous Chihuahua Cartoon “Madness”

Zorphic known famously as “Madness”, was introduced as a chihuahua in the cartoon series, Invader Zim. It was an alien from the “Morphic” race. The character was a tiny dog with a chipped ear, and a stitch across its head. It arrived on Earth without disturbance to discover things, then it had some encounters with other cartoon characters. “Madness” was introduced several times during the course of the cartoon series. 

It was named “Madness” by fans as its first appearance in the cartoon series, because the principal character of the cartoon, Zim, yelled “MADNESS!”. When it saw for the first time the tiny alien chihuahua Zorphic in the episode “Walk of Doom”.

6.  Ren & Stimpy – Famous Chihuahua Cartoon

The hyperactive chihuahua’s name is Ren and its mad companion cat cartoon named Stimpy. These two cartoon characters were too famous in the 90s.

The nervous chihuahua always directs its anger toward Stimpy in their cartoon adventures. Ren’s personality was always the source of problems when they meet other characters during their cartoon escapades through their imaginable neighborhood.

Even if  Ren was nervous and sometimes out of control, its cat-friend was loyal and always there to take care of it.

7. Famous Chihuahua Cartoon Tito (Oliver & Company Chihuahua)

Tito was a tiny chihuahua cartoon character from Disney’s 1988 movie, Oliver & Company. Its full name was  Ignacio Alonzo Julio Frederico de Tito. The little chihuahua used to have always some troubles with other dogs even those larger than himself. It seems that it often forgets its small size. Tito was a moving image of the chihuahua stereotype. 

Tito’s tough personality disappears when he is surrounded by the ladies of Oliver & Company. Tito becomes suddenly a gentleman and sympathetic little guy.

8. Famous Chihuahua Chloe the Chihuahua (Beverly Hills Chihuahua)

Angel is the real name of the chihuahua who was introduced as “Chloe”, in the amazing movie Beverly Hills chihuahua. The tiny dog was abandoned by her parents, then the trainer adopted her and helped her to be famous as she played the role of “Chloe” in the movie of Beverly Hills Chihuahua. The tiny dog showed amazing skills in that movie, her tricks were so good. A lot of people start to believe that chihuahuas are naturally smart based on what they watched in the movie.

9. MICKEY ROURKE‘S PET CHIHUAHUA Loki

LOKI, (1991-2009) was the actor’s preferred dog, The star was rarely seen without the tan, stubby-legged pooch at his side or in his arms. According to him, Loki saved him from the dark deep depression and his battles against addiction. Loki was always there for him in the toughest times in his life.

“Loki is the love of my life. …My dog is very old and she is not going to be around for long so I want to spend every moment with her,” he said in Venice.

When the tiny dog passed away, the actor was in deep sadness. “Loki is deeply missed but with me in spirit. I am very blessed she fell asleep peacefully in my arms,” the actor said in a statement to the Daily News.

10. Famous Chihuahua Mix Papi (Beverly Hills Chihuahua)

Rusco was the real name of the Beverly Hills Chihuahua dog star. He is a chihuahua mix. The film dog trainer found Rusco on a website waiting for a home to adopt him. The dog has talents he played the role of “Papi”, a poor Mexican chi. Rusco has respectable skills as he demonstrated a lot of great tricks and behaviors in the movie.
